Description
Tod, Marcus Niebuhr. THE GREEK NUMERAL NOTATION. Reprinted from the Annual of the British School at Athens, No. XVIII (Athens, 1911–1912). (1), 98–132 pages, interleaved. Extensively annotated by the author on the interleaves; handwritten letter from G.F. Hill dated 1913 on British Museum letterhead tipped in, suggestion a numismatic correction to the article. [bound with] Tod, Marcus Niebuhr. THREE GREEK NUMERAL SYSTEMS. Reprinted from the Journal of Hellenic Studies, Vol. XXXIII (London, 1913). 27–34 pages. Two works, bound in one volume. Crown 4to, contemporary blue cloth, gilt; original printed paper covers bound in. Very good or better. Two works by Tod, the first of which is very extensively annotated by the author. The letter from Hill corrects an error made by Tod, who had relied upon a first edition copy of Historia Numorum for the data in question, not realizing that better information was to be found in the second edition.
